Golfing legend Arnold Palmer has passed away.
The gentleman golfer from Latrobe, Pennsylvania was the first television superstar of his sport and earned him generations of devoted fans.
Palmer was the first to earn $1 million in prize money, and would later go on to be a co-founder of the Golf Channel.
He captured seven major tournaments during his career.
He won The Masters four times, The British Open twice, and the U.S. Open once.
Palmer died at a hospital in Pittsburgh ahead of planned heart surgery.
He was 87 years old.
