With one week to go until Halloween, the rush is on as people hit the shelves searching for their costumes of choice. One place that's a sure bet - George and Co. - the historic novelty store in Williamsville that's been around since the 1920's.

This family-owned and operated business is open year round, selling everything from the trendiest of costumes, to the scariest. Then there's the make-up, accessories and wigs of course - a bit of something for everyone.

Known by many as "Buffalo's Most Unusual Store," George and Co. has been selling and selling for years. Despite the growing popularity of the internet, business has not only survived, but it's excelled.

"I think at the end of the day, when it comes to costumes, people want that experience. We get new things every day. We sell to customers all over the world and I think the legacy my family has left is one that Western New Yorkers have really embraced," Mike Smilanich shared.

For Mike, this store is his second home. His grandpa George Smilanich Sr. opened the doors and now it's up to him and his dad to keep the fun and adventurous legacy.

So, what are people looking for when it comes to looking spooktacular this Halloween?

"This year, it's all about the superheros and heroines," Mike said.

"Of course you have the classics - witches, vampires, zombies, the oldies but goodies as well," he continued.

Buf, if you're not looking to break the bank this Halloween, consider this trick- make-up. It's a great affordable option when it comes to spicing things up.
