Queen City Bike Ferry will start giving bicyclist and pedestrians rides this Friday. It'll run noon to 8 p.m. through the week and Saturday an Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Getting from Canalside to Buffalo’s outer harbor just got easier. Assemblyman Sean Ryan and Mayor Byron Brown helped welcome Buffalo’s Queen City Bike Ferry on Monday.
The ferry is 50-feet long and 14-feet wide. It will hold around 49 people or 20 to 25 riders and their bikes.
The ferry ride is $1 each way and takes about three minutes to cross the Buffalo River. Captain Rich Hilliman and his father will operate the ferry.
Monday through Friday the ferry will run noon to 8 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Operations will begin Friday, May 22 and run through Labor Day.
