You'll be able to enjoy watching a movie in downtown Buffalo with popcorn in one hand and a beer in the other hand soon.

The new AMC theater located across from Shea's Performing Arts Center was granted a temporary liquor license Thursday.

AMC says that they will begin their MacGuffins adult beverage service in late September or early October.

Back in 2011, New York State legislature passed an amendment allowing the sale of alcohol in movie theaters if the theater has a full restaurant style menu and tables for dining.

The theater opened last Thursday to the public. The project cost $9 million dollars to complete.
