PERRYSBURG, NY (WKBW-TV) - The Village of Perrysburg in Cattaraugus County will dissolve into the Town of Perrysburg effective December 31st.
A dissolution study was conducted back in December of 2009 and the study found it was fiscally sound to merge the town and the village. The dissolution was put to a public vote in March 2010 and passed 60 to 9.
Village Mayor Anthony Kota says residents shouldn't notice much of a difference in the services provided since most of them are already provided through the town. Kota did mention that village residents will now be required to shovel their own sidewalks.
The Village of Perrysburg was established 95-years-ago and will close it's books for good on December 31st.
The Village of Randolph and East Randolph, both in Cattaraugus County, will dissolve into their respective towns also on December 31st.
