WEST SENECA, NY ( release ) Chris Fahey, candidate for the vacant 145th New York State Assembly seat, welcomed an overflow crowd to the grand opening of his campaign headquarters located at 1500 Union Road in West Seneca.
“Being accessible to local residents is a hallmark of public service and something we consider a priority,” said Fahey. “In the weeks ahead we’re going to try to reach as many doors as possible to hear from local residents first-hand but we’re also opening our doors and welcoming local residents to stop in for a visit, thoughtful conversation or to volunteer.”
Fahey has been walking neighborhoods in Buffalo, Lackawanna, West Seneca and Orchard Park for months and has already reached approximately 11,000 homes.
After a rally with supporters, including local elected and political leaders, troops of volunteers headed into the neighborhoods of the 145th district with Fahey to help share his message and plan to create jobs, save energy costs and continue to reform Albany.
A special election, to fill the seat formerly held by Mark Schroeder who was recently elected as Buffalo Comptroller, will be held March 20, 2012.
