BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Incumbent Assemblyman Sam Hoyt secured the Democratic nomination in the 144th Assembly District.
Hoyt held off Buffalo Common Council North District member Joseph Golombek in Tuesday's primary.
At his victory celebration Tuesday night, Hoyt called for an end to the politics and called for unity with his opponent.
"Let's work together. Let's make sure we elect a Democrat to the State Assembly. Let's lay down our arms and join arms and in unison try to fix the problems in this community," said Hoyt.
