Police find body of Jamestown man reported missing under suspicious circumstances

Police in Jamestown said a body pulled from the Chadakoin River Tuesday afternoon is believed to be that of a man reported missing under suspicious circumstances.

Sean Carpenter, 35, was last seen walking down East Pine Street towards 1st Street at 1:45 a.m. on April 11. He was reportedly heading home, but never made it.

Officers found the body around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday off Harrison Street. Police said an autopsy is set for Wednesday morning at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.
