A Buffalo man is facing multiple charges in connection to an armed robbery in Amherst.

Amherst Police say 29-year-old Justin Arnold robbed an electronics store on Main Street in Eggertsville Thursday afternoon. The store clerk called police around 1 p.m. and told them Arnold brandished a large knife before taking off with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police say an on-duty Town of Amherst Building Inspector told officers he saw a man matching Arnold's description duck into a restaurant. Officers surrounded the restaurant and made contact with the man who they determined to be Arnold.

A K-9 officer found the knife nearby.

Arnold was charged with Robbery in the first degree, Burglary in the second degree, and Possession of a Forged Instrument in the first degree (counterfeit currency).

He was arraigned in the Town of Amherst and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center without bail.
