Buffalo Police have identified the man shot to death near a city school on Thursday.
Investigators say 28-year-old Reginald Barnes was shot inside a car around 3 p.m. at Woodlawn and Michigan, right outside Performing Arts High School. Police say the car traveled a few hundred feet before coming to a stop.
Police blocked off the streets in such a way to shield children from the scene as school staff loaded students on buses.
Buffalo Peacemakers arrived on scene to bolster the police presence and keep parents calm as they picked up their children.
