Lackawanna police have charged a Buffalo man with stealing from a church's collection at Sunday mass.
Police say 34-year-old Russell Bennethum stole $250 from a church at 39 Pulaski Place, which through a Google search comes up as The River of WNY.
A member of the church reported the theft to police.
Police say Bennethum admitted to stealing the collection money. He was found with $250, though police did not say how.
Bennethum was charged with petit larceny. There is no word on a court date.
