Erie County Sheriff's Office is hosting free child car seat checks this weekend.

Certified car seat technicians and the Erie County Sheriff's Office will be at the Grand Island Town Hall Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Experts will be Inspecting all car seats for proper installation, defects, and offering installation instructions for car seats that are designed for various ages.

Operation Safe Child ID cards will also be offered. In the event that a child goes missing, police agencies can access the child's information from the Division of Criminal Justice Services in Albany, where the data will be stored.

Sheriff Timothy Howard and the Erie County Sheriff's office are providing both free services to all residents of Erie County.
