A late night police chase in the City of Buffalo ended with one man dead and another in police custody at Erie County Medical Center.

Police say this started about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, as a call for shots fired.  The call as at Michigan ad Goodell.

A spokesman told 7 Eyewitness News in a statement, officers saw the suspect's car and started chasing the driver.

The driver hit a building near Genesee and Bissell.  That driver, who has not been identified, is in police custody at the hospital.

His passenger, who has not been identified either, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Because this is an officer involved incident, the department's Internal Affairs Division is investigating the crash.

The officer involved has not been identified.  It's unclear if they are on administrative leave.

It's unclear if any charges have been filed at this point.
