Police say a dispute in a Rochester, New York, bar spilled outside and erupted into gunfire that left one man dead and seven other people injured.
Police Chief Michael Ciminelli says seven men and one woman were shot at around 2 a.m. Sunday at a sports bar and dance club called Mexican Village.
Ciminelli says officers in the area heard the gunshots and arrived before a 911 call was made.
The man who died was 29. A 26-year-old man is in guarded condition.
The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports that the victims ranged in age from 21 to 30.
Ciminelli says police are interviewing about 40 people who were nearby at the time.
