Detectives announced an arrest Sunday in the robbery of the Northwest Bank branch on the 200 block of Main Street in Buffalo.
The Buffalo Police Department reports Mateo Mercado, 55, of Hamburg was charged in connection to the robbery. Mercado is accused of entering the bank just before 12:30 on Friday afternoon, demanding money from a teller, and leaving with cash. Detectives say Mercado can be seen in surveillance photographs taken during the incident.
Police have not reported how much money was taken or whether the money was recovered when Mercado was arrested.
