Orchard Park Police had their work cut out for them this weekend.

The department responded to more than 100 calls in the area, many of which were alcohol-related.

Starting around 11:30 Sunday morning, police got to work, responding to one call of a 21-year-old man in a confrontation with security guards at New Era Field.

When police got there, he became hostile, even resisting arrest.

He was later released from the Orchard Park Police Department on bail.

Just hours later, police got another call to O'Neil's Bar where a man crashed his vehicle into another one, then took off on foot.

The 21-year-old was caught and when they got to the police station, he blew a 0.20 on the breathalyzer test.

He, too was released on bail and now faces aggravated DWI over 0.18 and leaving the scene of a crash, among other charges.

Meantime, officers out on Southwestern Boulevard arrested a 62-year-old man for DWI, after they say he crashed his car into several other cars and almost ran over a pedestrian before trying to drive off.

When he submitted to a breathalyzer, he blew a 0.30.

He was also released on bail and is due in court at Orchard Park Town Court.

Police took numerous calls involving car crashes, fires, fights, public intoxication and other criminal acts.

They and EMS crews also helped several people during the game because of alcohol consumption and heat-related medical issues.
