At approximately 6:00 p.m. Saturday, the New York State Police were called to investigate a pedestrian double fatal accident which occurred on Maple Springs – Ellery Road (County Route 46) in the Town of Ellery.
Investigation showed that Wesley V. Lutgen, 85, and his son Benjamin A. Lutgen, 42, both of Bemus Point, were struck and killed by an elderly female driver while they were walking in the roadway.
Both subjects were wearing dark clothing at the time of the collision.
The elderly female driver was not injured in the collision. She is said to be the neighbor of the two men and a family friend.
No charges are pending.
