A financial services firm that has been named by the Business Council of New York as one of the best companies to work for in the state is planning a major expansion in Amherst.
Strategic Financial Solutions will take over the lease for a 60,000 square-foot location on Lawrence Bell Drive as it looks to hire more than 1,500 people over the next five years.
Hiring has already begun, CEO Ryan Sasson tells 7 Eyewitness News. The goal is to hire 150 people over the next year and continue expanding in the years ahead.
The 10 year-old company, which works with people with extensive credit card debt, has helped more than 100,000 clients nationwide.
Strategic Financial is looking fill positions in client services, financial consulting, human resources and management. Salaries start in the mid-$30,000 range but average around $75,000. Sales and management positions can make much more.
The company is looking for temporary space to setup operations next month before moving into the Lawrence Bell Drive space - which was last occupied by Sodexho - this fall.
Buffalo beat out a number of other locations - many in the Northeast - for this expansion. The company was impressed with the energy, growth and deep sense of 'Buffalo pride,' Sasson added.
Jordan Levy, a local entreureneaur and former chair of the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation, is one of five investors in the company.
