Help is on the way for people in the Town of Wheatfield who are dealing with a landfill that the DEC calls a threat.

Senator Rob Ortt says $75,000 in state funds will help build a fence around the old landfill on Nash Road.

The site is still considered to have toxic waste after the removal of Love Canal's toxic chemicals.

The State Department of Environmental Conservation had considered the site a significant threat to public health.

The landfill officially closed back in 1968.
