The controversial Buffalo lawn display that featured a noose and Donald Trump campaign signs has been taken down.

The above picture, taken Monday morning, shows the home where the lawn display generated controversy last week in the Seneca-Babcock neighborhood.

The owner of the home, Egbert Bickley, said he was merely making a "political statement" but his fellow Buffalo residents and four area lawmakers condemned the display as a reminder of the country's troubled racial history.

7 Eyewitness News first reported the presence of the noose and its effect on members of Buffalo's African-American community on Oct. 13.
