New Labatt Blue and Blue Light cans celebrate Buffalo River

If you drink Labatt Blue or Blue Light, you'll soon be able to pick up special cans that celebrate the Buffalo River.

It's all part of a new campaign known as "Loving New York." Besides the Buffalo River, cans will also feature other popular upstate summer water destinations such as Seneca Lake, the Thousand Islands, and Lake George.

Labatt USA said the cans will be available in all locations that sell 18-packs of Labatt Blue or Labatt Blue Light.

The Buffalo River cans come as part of an ongoing partnership between Labatt USA and Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper, with a goal of helping to raise awareness of the importance of water stewardship.

Labatt USA also said a new pilot program will have its employees sampling and testing local waterways for microplastics.
