News that New York State Commissioner of Education MaryEllen Elia had ordered Carl Paladino removed from the Buffalo Board of Education was generating strong reactions from people both for and against Paladino.

Commissioner Elia ruled that Paladino violated education law by revealing confidential information about contract negotiations with the teachers union.

Carl Paladino was elected to a second school board term in May 2016 and 7 Eyewitness News found he still has strong support from voters in the school board's "Park District" in South Buffalo.

However, the Buffalo Teachers Federation had filed it own complaint with the NYS Education Department seeking Paladino's removal.

7 Eyewitness News Reporter Ed Reilly has reaction from both sides in his report.
