Millions of people have still not received there New York property tax rebate check and now a western New York senator wants to know why.
Senator Tim Kennedy has penned a letter to the Tax Department, questioning why many homeowners will now have to wait until the Fall to receive property-tax rebate checks that were scheduled to be mailed out back in February.
According to Kennedy's office, the Department has yet to comment on why there is a delay and how many of these checks have yet to be issued.
In the letter sent to the Department, Kennedy is asking how many New Yorkers are still waiting on checks, how much money has yet to be disbursed and why this problem continues to persist.
