Two young girls are about to step into the sweet spotlight at Shea's Performing Arts Center.

Isabella Maritato and Sophia Vandette have been selected to play LuLu when the musical 'Waitress' serves up six days of shows next month.

Maritato and Vandette were among more than 40 girls who auditioned for the role on January. They will alternate the role, each playing four performances during the show's run from February 6-11.

Maritato is making her stage debut. In addition to singing and dancing, her hobbies include skiing, softball and playing with her younger sister.

Vandette is a student at the Academy of Theatre Arts and Mary Alice Dance Studio.

LuLu is the daughter of the musical's main character Jenna, an expert pie baker working at a local diner who feels trapped in a loveless marriage.

'Waitress' features music and lyrics by Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles. Bareilles is currently starring as Jenna in the show's Broadway cast.
