A North Tonawanda man will serve time behind bars for hitting a man in a motorized wheelchair with his truck and leaving the scene back in February.

Mark Hicks has pled guilty to leaving the scene of a serious physical injury incident without reporting.

Prosecutors say 34-year-old Hicks admitted he was driving his pick-up truck on Vulcan Street in the Town of Tonawanda when he hit a 56-year-old man.

The victim spent weeks at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC). He was treated for injuries to his head and chest.

Hicks was sentenced to one year in prison.
