A Chautauqua County man could spend the rest of his life in prison for robbing and killing a violinist inside her summer home.

A judge sentenced Jonathan Conklin, 45, to 25 years to life in prison for second-degree murder.

Conklin fatally shot 61 year-old Mary Whitaker in August 2014 on Titus Road in the Town of Sherman. Whitaker was from New York City but spent her summers in Western New York playing at the Chautauqua Institution.

Conklin's accomplice, Charles Sanford, has also pleaded guilty in this case. He will be sentenced on Friday.
