A North Tonawanda man has pleaded guilty to setting a fire that burned down the home of a volunteer firefighter.

Matthew Jurado appeared in Niagara County Court on Friday. He pleaded guilty to second degree arson charges.

Jurado faces five to 10 years in prison. He is set to be sentenced on July 21.

Jurado was arrested for the fire back in August 2016.

Police say he admitted to setting fire to volunteer firefighter Ken Walker's apartment.

Police say Jurado is a former firefighter from a different department, and was upset about his recent removal from his department.
