The ring leader in a group that stole credit cards pleaded guilty Wednesday.

According to Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael Flaherty, a group lead by Christopher McCullen, 45, broke into cars and stole credit cards which were then used to buy untraceable gift cards. Between April and December of 2014, the group broke into cars parked at gyms, restaurants, parks and other entertainment facilities in Buffalo, Amherst, Tonawanda, and Depew, according to the DA.

Flaherty's office says the stolen credit cards were given to some women in the group to buy gift cards that were then sold at a discounted price.

A total of ten people all entered guilty pleas, according to Flaherty.

The DA says McCullen pleaded guilty to scheme to defraud and seven counts of grand larceny. He will be sentenced on November 30 and faces a maximum of six years in prison.
