The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says a woman in Westfield called 911 when she heard her dog barking and saw a man entering her house through a window.
Deputies and Westfield Police say they were sent to 8343 Route 5 in the Town of Westfield while the burglary was still in progress.
Deputies and police officers found Jeffrey Switzer in the bedroom with items from the house in bags, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office says it took Switzer into custody who was arraigned in the Town of Chautauqua Court and kept in county jail on a $30,000 bail.
