A man from the Town of Almond is charged with criminal mischief after intentionally damaging a sheriff's office car.
According Allegany County Sheriff Ricky Whitney, William Staton, 27, was being transported to the Allegany County Jail for other charged when he caused over $1,100 in damage.
Deputies say Staton was processed and taken to the Town of Amity Court where he was arraigned.
He is being held in the Allegany County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 insurance bond, according to officials. He will be back in court on November 23 for additional court action.
