For the second year in a row West Seneca is looking to raise the ad valorem tax. Last year the tax was raised 8.6%, and this year, they are looking to raise it 3.95%. Raising the taxes is something many were not happy with.

"I think the tax payers are being treated unfairly." Joan Latini, who has lived in West Seneca for 20 years said.

The tax that will be raised will be in general town taxes, and highway taxes. According to the town it will cost the average household 45 dollars a year.

"It could be just a couple of dollars in some cases, and it might be double that for a million dollar home" West Seneca Town Councilman Eugene Hart said.

There was a public meeting for the new budget, which must be finalized by November 20th.
