Brockport Police and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office are now looking for the person responsible for shooting a 33-year-old wife and mother as she took her lunch break.  The shooting happened Friday August 25, 2017 on South Avenue in Brockport.

The victim is identified as Megan Duncanson Dix who is from Lyndonville and worked at the Lowes Store in Brockport.  According to police, Dix left to take her lunch around 1 p.m. Friday but never returned to work.  Her body was later found around 8 p.m. in the driver's seat of a pickup truck with a fatal gunshot to her head.

Dix leaves behind a husband and 8-year-old child.  She also leaves behind a shocked and heartbroken community in Lyndonville where she grew up in a large family.

No suspects are in custody as police continue the investigation.  Police do not believe the fatal shooting was a random act of violence.

A GoFundMe account has been started to help pay for funeral expenses and provide for the victim's young son.
