LPCiminelli is closing its general contracting company and auctioning off construction equipment, tools and storage items.

The auction takes place Tuesday, December 12th at 8:00 a.m. at 1740 Broadway in Buffalo.  RTI Auctions is holding the public auction, and says it will be a live auction with online bidding.

In a statement, LPCiminelli's President Kyle Tuttle said, "LPCiminelli has made the business decision to close our general contracting company. The auction is for the purpose of disposing of the heavy equipment we no longer need. We will continue to focus all of our efforts on construction management and program management, along with development opportunities."

The auction comes following the arrest of three top executives at the company.  Louis Ciminelli, Kevin Schuler and Michael Laipple are facing federal charges for their alleged roles in bribery and fraud schemes connected to projects at the Riverbend site funded by the Buffalo Billion.

The three were arrested in September 2016.  A Grand Jury in New York City indicted them on charges related to bid-rigging earlier this year.
