A 23-year-old Lockport man is facing a federal charge of possessing child pornography.

Prosecutors said Sterling Jones first came under scrutiny in March when the FBI received a report about a DropBox account that belonged to Jones.

In April, officers executed a search warrant at Jones' Grand Street apartment, seizing his cell phone in the process. Prosecutors said a forensic analysis of the phone revealed a second DropBox account, which contained approximately 295 videos and 11 images of child pornography, including images depicting prepubescent children.

Jones made an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder and is being held in custody.

If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 fine.
