WARSAW, NY (WKBW) - Warsaw School Superintendent Valerie Burke officially resigned yesterday after a DWI arrest that occurred last year.

Her resignation was in the spotlight in a special meeting with the school board, after it was found that Burke was charged with DWI.

Burke was arrested in the Rochester area in May of 2011 with a .15% blood alcohol content level.

Prior to yesterday's meeting, the school board had made a statement in regards to Burke saying she had been on vacation.

Burke had been superintendent since 2010.
