Two Guards Stabbed at Boulevard Mall

AMHERST, NY (WKBW) - Two loss prevention workers employed by a clothing store inside the Boulevard Mall on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst were stabbed Sunday evening, after confronting suspected shoplifters.

It happened just before 5:30 near the main entrance to the mall facing the boulevard.

Amherst Police say one guard suffered a stab wound to the neck, while the other was stabbed in the side, after they followed a man and two women suspected of shoplifting outside the mall, and confronted them.

Police say their injuries are not expected to be life threatening.

The suspects fled the scene in a silver Nissan, which was discovered at a nearby motel and taken into custody by Amherst Police. The suspects are still on the loose.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'9" - 5'10", thin build in his late teens or early 20's, possibly with a mustache. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt or jacket at the time of the incident.

The second suspect is described as a black female, medium build believed to be in her late teens or early 20's.

The third is also described as a black female, between 5'7" and 5'9" in height with a medium build. She is also believed to be in her late teens or early 20's.
