West Seneca, NY (WKBW-TV)
At approximately 10:18a.m. Friday morning, the State Police (Troop T) were called to investigate a report of a tractor-trailer striking the Lackawanna Toll Barrier on I-90 westbound. For unknown reasons the below detailed tractor trailer drifted off the right side of his lane as he entered the toll barrier and struck a toll booth and one of the structural supports for the awning that covers the entire barrier. The truck driver, 44 year old Michael Bousquet of Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, was taken by ambulance to ECMC for treatment of head injuries sustained in the accident. The toll collector, 39 year old Tammy Roberts of Orchard Park, was taken via ambulance to Immediate Care Facility for treatment of minor lacerations from flying glass.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time.
