GRAND ISLAND, NY (WKBW) -- Police arrested nearly two dozen teenagers Thursday night at a party on Grand Island. The teenagers were arrested at an apartment complex on Bedell Road near Grand Island Boulevard for underage drinking and at least two teens were charged with possession of marijuana. The hosts of the party, who are underage, were also charged with endangering the welfare of a child. "Deputies responded and there were a lot of... minors in the area, all under 21 anywhere from 15 to 19 years old," Sergeant Joseph Belden, with the Erie County Sheriff's department, said.

"Sat on my balcony and watched all the kids get taken out and the cop cars," one neighbor said.

Officers say they won't tolerate underage drinking and the use of drugs, no matter where it is. "If you're under 21 and drinking you'll be arrested for that. And if you're hosting the party you're going to be arrested for higher charges for doing that and you're gonna be going to jail," Sergeant Belden said. "We are getting the word out... we're gonna find out about it, we're going to show up and we're going to be arresting people."
