Amherst, NY (WKBW) - It's down to the wire for holiday shoppers! However, technology can help make that last minute shopping trip to the mall easier and cheaper.
This year, procrastinating is paying off more than ever -- all thanks to technology.
Carrie Eagan explains "I go online, get all my coupons and things on my phone."
With stores e-mailing out and offering coupons on the web, a lot of shoppers scan these special deals on their phones right at the register.
Eagan says she gets "a lot of free things for the kids, or 40% off. I mean I have three little girls and they want every name brand store."
Customers can stay more organized, using phones to make lists as well.
New apps are helping shoppers get even bigger discounts.
Kathryn Magoon explains "Four square if you check in -- or sometimes if you like the company's Facebook page, you get a discount."
Shoppers are even mapping out their trip to the mall a little better. Many stores and shopping venues offer maps customers can download on phones.
However, there are those who say technology hurt them -- and that's why they are forced to shop last minute. Tess O'Leary "was hopping online, but those presents didn't come in on time."
However, a lot of people, like Angela Hearon says that last minute holiday crunch is something to look forward to every year because of "the deals, and most of all, the rush."
For those who still haven't bought a gift, it's best not to wait too late on Monday. A lot of stores and malls open early -- but they close early too for Christmas Eve.
