LOCKPORT, NY (WKBW) -Thursday close to 200 incoming 6th grade students filled the gymnasium of Starpoint Middle School to participate in the 'Where Everybody Belongs' program (WEB) for middle school orientation. 37 incoming 8th grade students were selected from an applicant pool of close to 100 to help greet and interact with the new 6th grade students. The concept behind the program is to have an older student serve as a role model so students feel more at ease in their new school setting. This relationship continues throughout the school year as students meet in several social and academic settings.
