BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Record crowds are expected for the 71st Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Buffalo on Sunday, city officials said.

Buffalo Police are planning extra patrols along Delaware Avenue as the weather is expected to bring a large crowd to the city's core.

On Saturday, the Old Neighborhood Parade kicked off at Noon in the city's Old First Ward.

Sunday's parade begins at 2 p.m.

500 people gathered for the traditional start of the holiday at the Irish Center in South Buffalo for a lunch of corned beef and cabbage and classical Irish music and dancing.
