LeRoy, N.Y. – Some club basketball games scheduled for this weekend in LeRoy have been dropped after several visiting teams called and canceled.
Several of the games were associated with the Catholic Youth Organization, CYO.
The LeRoy School District says no school teams are involved, but added the games were to be played in LeRoy schools.
The Catholic Diocese of Rochester says, “This was not a diocesan decision, but one made by the individual parents on some CYO teams.”
The cancellation comes as a group of LeRoy students battle an illness that has given them Tourette-like symptoms.
While the school district says the students have been diagnosed with Conversion Disorder, several groups have called for more testing.
