BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) A federal grand jury in Buffalo has indicted a Medina attorney on drug and weapons charges.
Adam Rissew, 36, of Medina, is charged with manufacturing of marijuana, using his home to manufacture and distribute marijuana, and possessing a weapon while trafficking drugs.
Rissew was arrested in July, when a search of his Catherine St. home revealed an extensive marijuana growing operation. Agents also discovered scales, tools used to cut and package marijuana, and a safe containing 3 guns and 700 rounds of ammunition.
Rissew was working as a public defender in Monroe County at the time of his arrest.
If convicted, he faces 5 to 20 years in prison, and could be fined up to $2,250,000.
Rissew is scheduled to appear in federal court for a detention hearing on August 27, when a judge will decide whether he will be released or held in prison during his trial.
