LEON, NY (WKBW) - Police have arrested a South Dayton man for attempting to rob an Amish couple in their buggy earlier this month.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Department have arrested Donald Pfaffenbach, 29, and charged him attempted robbery.

Pfaffenbach allegedly displayed a hand gun and attempted to steal money and property from an Amish couple while they were riding on Riga Road in their horse drawn buggy. When the couple refused to give Pfaffenbach their wallet, he fired a round in the proximity of the horse.

Pfaffenbach is being held in lieu of $500.00 bail in the Cattaraugus County Jail. Investigators say more arrests are pending after the completion of the investigation.
