BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- The Thursday at the Square concerts in downtown Buffalo this summer have been incident free. But after the concert last Thursday night, hundreds of people made their way down Main Street to continue the party on the Chippewa Strip. Some of the crowd became unruly and several fights broke out. Half a dozen people were arrested for disorderly conduct.

This week after the concert, police are keeping a closer eye on where the violence happened last week near Main Street. Sources say that may include more manpower.

Many people who come to the Chip Strip to party say they feel safer now that police are keeping a closer eye on this area. "I think it's good, to prevent all the bad things from happening," one partier said. "Safer for all the people around in the community."
