A sad story out of Iowa.
According to a report from Iowa television station KCCI, a Des Moines police dog died this week after reportedly being left inside a patrol car on a hot day.
It's not known how long the dog was left inside the vehicle on Wednesday, but investigators believe high temperatures and heat led to the dog's death, according to the KCCI report.
