PELHAM, ON (WKBW) A young child was attacked by as many as three Rottweilers Friday night, according to the Niagara Regional Police.

Niagara Regional Police and the Pelham Fire Department responded to the attack at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. EMTs were already treating the victim, a 5-year-old girl, for severe injuries.

The girl was taken to Welland County General Hospital with serious injuries, and once stable, was airlifted to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. She was still listed in critical condition on Saturday morning.

The three dogs involved in the attack were removed from the property and are being held by the Welland Humane Society while police investigate. No charges have been filed against the dogs' owner.
