State Police Arrest 16-Year-Old For Attempted Murder

Wellsville, NY (WKBW/New York State Police Press Release) - New York State Police arrested a 16-year-old Wellsville male for attempted murder in the 2nd degree, reckless endangerment in the 1st degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree.

The charges stem from an incident which occurred at approximately 1:39 P.M. on August 7th.

State Police say the teen shot his 60-year-old stepfather Robert Garrison twice in the chest with a .40 caliber gun.

Wednesday morning, the 16 year old suspect was arraigned in the Town of Wellsville court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail and is due back in court at a later date.

The shooting took place at Garrison's home on County Road 30, in the Town of Wellsville.
