Man Pleads Guilty After Intentionally Crashing Vehicle into Firehouse

A Buffalo man is awaiting his sentence after pleading guilty to criminal mischief in the second degree for driving his car into a firehouse.

On August 29, 2011, 52-year-old Mark Detlef intentionally drove his car into Station No. 1 of the Main Transit Fire Department and 6777 Main Street in Williamsville.

The crash cause over $500,000 of damage to the buildings support structures, glass bay doors, heavy rescue trucks, and pumper truck.

Detlef will be sentenced on April 9th and faces up to 7 years in prison
