Three people are recovering after a man crashed his vehicle into a parked car in Amherst, police say.

69-year-old David Celani of Tonawanda ran his 2007 Chrysler into a parked 2005 Dodge van at the Tops Market on Maple Road.

According to police, Celani mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal instead of the break prior to the crash.

The driver of the van, 47-year-old Renee Hauser of Clarence, was near her car door and was thrown to the ground.

Her passenger, 82-year-old Frank Rovison of Amherst, was behind the van and was also knocked to the ground.

Hauser and Rovison were attempting to drop off items to the Goodwill trailer.

A Goodwill worker, 59-year-old Johnnie McCoy, was knocked off a platform by the trailer during the crash.

Celani was not hurt.

Hauser, Rovison, and McCoy are at ECMC tonight. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Amherst Police are still investigating. Any witnesses are asked to call 689-1311.
